Pakistan Sponsored militancy in Kashmir

 There has been a constant conflict between India and Pakistan over numerous numbers of issues. One of the major factors for conflicts has been Militants, which Pakistan has always denied in-spite of supporting evidence India gave time and over. Even before partition, a major group constraining Muslim community tried to find a wedge to keep their community separate from rest of India.

This started from 1924-Kohat riots where around 155 Hindus were killed and 1 lakh of people had to migrate, then Calcutta riots in 1926, following Noakhali riots in 1946 leading to deaths of thousands of people by Muslim community which after partition led to the formation of Pakistan. Not to mention the multiple riots this took place at the time of partition leading to numerous deaths. This did not stop even after partition as Pakistan always wanted to destroy the integrity of India. After continuous defeats in war of 1965 and 1971, Pakistan was crashed aside by India which gave a huge blow to Pakistan. Realising that he could not defeat India by war, Pakistan started training militants which could do the job for them.

Militancy has been in the nature of Pakistan ever since, even if we look at the foreign policy of Pakistan. Ever since 1971, when India helped create Bangladesh and dealt a major blow to Pakistan, the Pakistani state has employed terrorism as a foreign-policy tool against India, sponsoring or training Jihadist groups and helping them cross the border into Punjab or Kashmir. Pakistan vigorously championed the right of self-determination for Muslims around the world. This can be proven through Kashmiri- Hindu killing in 1990’s by militant groups when large number of people fled since 1989 to escape targeted killings and abductions. 219 were killed from 1989 to 2004 according to government of Jammu and Kashmir, while an organization of the community in Kashmir carried out a survey whose data stated that 399 had been killed since 1990 with an estimated 75% killed in 1990 alone.

The major epicentre of their operation became Kashmir as Pakistan always tried to capture this state. As a matter of fact, it sent most of the militants to Kashmir and trained them. They filled hate in their minds against India and asked them to take revenge from the people by going against the law and supporting them. Pakistan’s Nuclear Policy reveals the same mindset. Pakistan has not stated a “no first use” policy and there is little known about its nuclear doctrine. “Pakistan tends to use its nuclear capabilities to act as a deterrent for any kind of military intervention by India,” whereas India has a “no first use” policy in its doctrine which clearly mentions that India is a peace abiding state and does not believe in attacking first.

All these years Pakistan has been supportive to several terrorist groups despite several stern warnings from the international community. It has been training several terrorist groups like ‘Lashker-e-Taliba’ which were also involved in attack of 26/11. The militants came through the sea route and attacked Taj Hotel and killed hundreds of people. Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf also admitted once that Pakistan supported Lashker-e-taliba which clearly proves that it has continuously tried to attack India on any front possible.

Pakistani soldiers cross fences to kill and mutilate the bodies of our soldiers. Such cock-a-snook BAT attack, in the past has been resorted to by Pakistani Army, whenever they faced a threat of conventional war with India or whenever Pakistani Army’s morale took a dip. Pakistan is at the verge of an economic apocalypse, yet the gluttonous Pakistani army has the temerity to funnel funds to terrorist groups created by ISI.

Pakistan’s military establishment and intelligence agencies consider militant sponsorship an important mechanism for maintaining Pakistan’s sovereignty and national identity. Pakistan’s civilian institutions, too, have evolved to facilitate militant sponsorship by routinely legitimizing expansive executive powers, limiting judicial oversight, and violating civil liberties in the name of the national interest. 

Despite of several warnings from different nations Pakistan continues to sponsor militancy to the groups like Hizb‐​ul‐​Mujahideen, Lashkar‐​e‐​Taiba, and Jaish‐​e‐​Mohammad, Afghan Taliban and Haqqani Network to name a few. The Greater Kashmir newspaper reported that the armed group Jaish-e-mohommad (JeM), headquartered in Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack. For the attack on convoy carrying 42 soldiers were attacked lately.

 

Pakistan was trembled when the government decided to make Jammu and Kashmir a proper state and ruled out ‘Article 370’which gave a special status to the state. Militants took advantage of the special status as many of the laws were not applicable to Jammu and Kashmir which gave them free hand. After this the militant attacks have reduced significantly. But still Pakistan tries to influence people through online media by creating different pages on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube,  hate tweets on Twitter by the name of Indian pages so that people begin to build hate the government. Pakistan believes in keeping religion above humanity and wants to maintain a radical society in India.

If this chapter has to be permanently erased then few points can be taken into consideration. Firstly the education system needs to be invigilated and altered especially in Madarsa’s from the basic classes to maintain a healthy atmosphere. Educational institutions must be increased and processed on practical learning. There should be Nukad Nataks, plays in theatre, debates and declamations in schools on this topic to eradicate the radical mindset. Motivational public speeches should be held on national days to mark the importance of education and development. Anti-Social elements of the society should be punished, law and order to be inherited strictly. Social Media websites and handles should be kept under watch so that no one tries to create hate among the society.

Pakistan should be cut off from any kind of ties and given Diplomatic Isolation. As Pakistan is already on the verge of an economic apocalypse, funding from UN and other aids should be stopped to create pressure. The agreements on the Line of Control (LOC) and Shimla Agreement should be reconsidered without intervention of UN council. Government of India should take people of Kashmir and areas of conflict into confidence by providing those jobs, creating institutions, development of the state so that natives feel equal to the whole nation. 

Google removes few IAC extensions for “Policy Violations”

The parent company Alphabet Google exclaimed that it has removes a certain number of browser extensions from its online conglomerate IAC/Interactive for “Policy Violations” and is reviewing “enforcement options”.

Google spokesman said that they are having conversation with IAC related to Chrome Web policies and have already removed a number of their extensions for violating their policies. Alphabet Google is also reviewing the rest of the extension applications and their enforcement options which they might have, however they have not made a stir decision regarding IAC’s status on the store.

An IAC spokeswoman disputed that the extensions violated Google policies and has taken hundreds of millions of dollars from the Alphabet Google to advertise and distribute these products in the Chrome Store. Google has misled the users about its browser extensions and the alphabet unit could go as far as banning those products from its Chrome Browser. Policies violated by IAC did not mention what exactly were the options that were being considered.

Google has not yet acted on the internal recommendations of its Chrome trust and safety team regarding IAC in part because the two are rivals in same categories and because Google executives are concerned penalties, it can be viewed as anti-competitive, the partnership agreement. IAC spokesperson told Google had approved its extension in the Chrome Store for years as a part of the company’s partnership agreement stating “Google exercises significant control over what we deliver in the given partnership”.

“There’s nothing new here - Google has used their position to reduce our browser business to the last small corner of the internet, which they’re now seeking to quash,” the statement added. Google’s investigators found that IAC’s browser extensions often promise functions they do not deliver and steer users toward extra ads, the WSJ reported, citing sources and documents.

Will Dhoni be a part of CSK for IPL 2021?

There have been many notions around country to predict if ex-skipper MS Dhoni will be available to play for CSK in IPL 2021. Captain cool has just announced his retirement a month back on Independence Day by taking retirement from international cricket. Dhoni hasn’t been playing cricket from 2019 world cup exit are there were presumptions that he may retire from cricket soon.

However in March before the IPL camp, he started practising in JSA Stadium which gave a sign of relief for cricket fans that he is still in the game, but due to lockdown the Indian Premiere League had to be postponed and finally it will be starting from 19^th September 2020. The big question which again came to highlight was if Dhoni will play for CSK in coming years as well.

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Vishwanathan feels that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has not played any competitive cricket since last year’s World Cup semifinal, will be part of the franchise in 2021 and 2022 IPLs. The 39-year-old Dhoni is set for a return to competitive cricket in the upcoming IPL and will definitely make his mark in the tournament.

Verdict from CSK

There will be mega auctions for IPL 2021 and there were speculations about if Dhoni would be put on bid in the next auction. But N. Srinivasan, the vice-chairman and managing director of India Cements, owners of the CSK franchise mentioned that Dhoni would be retained by the team for the 2021 IPL mega-auction as well. So it is quite evident that CSK won’t let Dhoni off at any cost till 2022.

“We can expect MS Dhoni to be part of both (IPL 2020 and 2021) and probably for even the next year - 2022,” Mr. Viswanathan was quoted as saying by indiatoday.in. He added “I am getting updates through the media only, saying he has been training in Jharkhand in indoor nets. But we don’t have to worry about the skipper, boss. We don’t worry about him at all. He knows his responsibilities and he will take care of himself and the team.”

Journey of Dhoni with CSK

It seems that skipper is yet to stay for CSK. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a part of IPL from the very beginning and has captained CSK since then. He has led the team to 3 IPL titles in 2010, 2011 and 2018. Chennai Super Kings has qualified for playoffs in every season it has been a part of IPL. It has been the most successful side in the IPL history and MS Dhoni has the highest success rate as a captain.

Captain cool has believed in experience playing the vital role in the win. After 2 years of ban, Dhoni led CSK won the title with team’s average age above 32 with most of its players far from their career peak and hence it justifies why CSK management and CEO believes in MS Dhoni so much. It is quite evident that MS Dhoni will be playing for CSK in the rest years of his career as a cricketer and will be there for the team as much as needed.

So to answer your queries, yes MS Dhoni will be retained and will be a part of CSK in 2021 IPL as well.

Human Trafficking- A virus from long headed history

Our life begins to end the day we become silent about things that matter-

In a scenario where we fight and strive hard by our Human rights, there are people who are deprived their basic rights forcefully or due to some extreme circumstances. These circumstances often lead them into unavoidable well of Human Trafficking. This practice has been coming into play since many decades. Earlier it was through slavery and now through exploitation and bondage. Human trafficking is when people are recruited or harbored by threat or force to be exploited.

A major bunch of this illegal practice comprises of commercial sex or labor exploitation. Today US along with Mexico and Philippines are marked as the worst in terms of Human Trafficking practices (Business Insider). Human trafficking was not even considered a crime till 2000 until trafficking victims protection act was made against it. Forty nine thousand cases have been reported in US of Human Trafficking since 2007. Whereas if we talk about India, the stats are no less but they are not reported.

Human Trafficking is majorly for two purposes. Either it is labor exploitation of different kinds or sex trafficking at each level. Labors are also exploited at different levels, some of these are transported from different countries specially South Asia, South Africa, poor Middle East countries and Latin America. New York is the hub of all illegitimate and legitimate practices. Everything is controlled from New York. Every year around eighteen thousand to twenty thousand people become the victims of Human Trafficking in US.

However human trafficking does not mean the victims being transferred or transported to different countries necessarily. Exploitation of people has a long back history with US when people were called for slavery and it was a common practice in the state. Labor exploitation almost has the same characteristics as of slavery in before times.

Forced Labor, Bonded Labor, Debt Bondage among migrant laborers and involuntary domestic service are the four types of Labor exploitation which takes place in terms of Human Trafficking. Accordingly there are two types of sex trafficking happening, one is normal sex trafficking where young adult women are taken and forced into certain kinds of sexual exploitation and are kept into prostitution.(Commission of status of women). The other is Children commercial sex trade which happens across the globe. In this children and teenage girls are sold commercially to a person who is free to exploit her sexually of any kind.

When a coerced, forced or deceived into prostitution by force and is forced to remain in a position of such position, that person becomes a victim of Sex Trafficking. It involves the whole process of transporting these victims from their native place to the area where they are forced into prostitution. The traffickers are themselves criminals and have committed to do such ugly jobs. They use unlawful ‘debt’ as their key to bondage these victims into prostitution from which they are never able to come out.

The majority of human trafficking in the world takes the form of forced labor. Forced labor is also a form of Human Trafficking which fell into labor slavery in ancient times. It is often hard to identify and recognize sex traffickers as they are brought so secretly and with arrangements that they are able to bypass the government security. However it may not involve the same criminal networks profiting from transnational sex trafficking. Instead it involves the subject workers who are brought to serve in coerced factories and households. Whereas in bonded labor, as the name suggests, revolves around the people who fall as victim to this deadly trap of trafficking. In expectation of removing their unlawful debts, they move to different area where the traffickers take undue advantage of them and exploit them. They do it assuming it to be terms and of the employment.

Debt Bondage among migrant workers is generally due to abuse of contracts, inadequate local laws and intentional imposition of exploitative. On the other hand Involuntary Domestic servitude is a special kind of forced labor where the victim is not allowed to go out of the house or his/her documents are taken away and they have to work as servants in informal workplace. It is quite astonishing fact that seventy one percent of the labor trafficking victims had come to US legally but were later compiled into human trafficking.Other than sex trades, victims are also forced into prostitution through health and beauty service industry.

Human trafficking is spreading at a high rate and Children are at the highest risk. Since children are more vulnerable than adults and can be easily controlled and cheaper to transport. All these types of human trafficking practices are due to similar conditions and reasons, due to lack of jobs, debts, poor working or family conditions in a country or lust for more money which leads them into this black hole.

ONCE THIS GENERATION GOES FROM APATHY TO ACTION, WE WILL SEE HUMAN TRAFFICKING END.

 Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the successful Operation Vijay, is celebrated in India on 26 July. On this date in 1999 India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July and resulted in loss of life on both the sides.

Excessive Force used by Police officers in US

Police and the law is made to protect us rather than to exploit us. Police officers also have some rules and regulations which they need to follow strictly in any procedure during their duty hours. But in-spite of all this, there is a case of police brutality or violence every seven hours in United States. Excessive use of powers by police officers has been observed to suppress the situation or take that situation under their control.

Undue advantage or misuse of powers given by government to the police officers on common citizens breaching their civil rights is called police brutality or police violence. Police brutality does not just includes torture or encounters but also physical or verbal abuse,  mental torture, giving stress during interrogation, rape and false arrests. Police is meant to help us and protect our rights but it is more often seen that it terrifies the people around.

According to a data, every nine out of ten people claim that police violence is a problem in the country. (The Guardian)  Excessive force refers to situations where police officials try exceeding the minimum limit to control the situation. The constitutional right meant to protect from excessive force is found reasonable and as a requirement in the fourth amendment right and the prohibition of cruel or unusual punishment in eighth amendment law. There have been many such cases where there was found to be misuse of force by the police officers. In a certain case of Tennessee V. Garner who was trying to flee from a house he had burglarised, he was a non- threatening teenager but the police shot him to stop him. This case was taken to Supreme Court and it refused to authorise the use of “all the necessary means to affect the arrest” plead so avoid the violation of fourth amendment. Similarly, it recognized the arrest of unnecessary people and torturing them to get information. There should be certain ways to do it. (Berenice Garcia, The Monitor)

In the recent times, where there is a huge protest for treating black people with respect and dignity, there had been some cases which show excessive steps taken by police officers to stop the crowd, which was protesting peacefully. Last month when U.S president Donald Trump went to visit a historic church near the white house, the police officers threw tear gas on the people doing silent protest and turned them out of the way. The Black Lives Matter protests peaked on 6 June with half a million people protesting in nearly 550 places across America. This is being considered as biggest protest till date and the reason, not to mention, is excessive force and torture being executed on the common people by the police officers. It all started with George Floyd unreasonable brutal torture, where he was restrained in the ground on road and was tortured to such an extent that he lost his life. George kept on appealing that let him breathe nearly 30 times, he told that he was claustrophobic and did not had any weapons and was ready to surrender but the police officers inhumanly tortured him to death. Racism is a big problem in America and the growing cases of police violence and brutality only makes it worse. There is a need of strict monitoring to avoid and discrepancies further and the US government should take strict actions against anyone not following or going through the defined laws. However, Trump has launched full-throated defenses of the police, about which the survey found by the guardian had contrasting views.  

According to the survey, three out of four people that are around 76 percent of people believe that most cops are good people but there are a few “bad apples”. But more than one in 10 that is thirteen percent people have the opposite opinion which is that most police officers are bad people, but there are some good ones. Through the survey one thing was clearly evident that excessive use of powers in US by the police officers was a serious matter or concern.

Law is above all and everyone should follow it. Police officers also have some guidelines which they should follow regardless of their personal liking or disliking. Powers are given to the police officers to take action when there is need. But misusing it for their personal grudge, no matter how serious is not acceptable.

Fourth Amendment and Eighth amendment speaks about the violence against common citizens. Also Supreme Court asked the police to get into the detail of an investigation and before taking actions, certain decorum should be maintained. Supreme Court issued some steps of differentiating the level of punishment and actions which can be taken by police officers in order to arrest the criminals. (Associated Press)

Physical presence, verbalization, empty hand control which deals which physical body moves, less lethal methods or weapons and then lethal weapons like guns and firearms should be allowed. And while taking action on any step, police should have credible proof of arresting the person. Even then use of unreasonable force should stop if the suspect is successfully restrained and checked. It is not allowed to punish suspects or criminals who do not posses threats. 

After acknowledging all this, it is our role to keep ourselves aware of the rights and keep in check abouhow we can prevent police officers from using excessive force on the public unnecessarily. For that purpose some remedies are available. Excessive force is a constitutional violation and any person who has been a victim of such thing can file a civil right complain for monetary injunctive relief. (Associated Press)

The victim can also file a complaint in Department of Justice, which may decide to investigate your case if some relevant clue is found. Generally when the person files the complaint, the court looks into the matter very precisely and judges on some crucial criteria. They try to know the severity of the crime committed by the person, any happening which could or had threatened the police officer to take that particular action against him/her and whether it is justified or not. The court tries to find if the individual was resisting request or trying to flee in any case. These factors matter a lot however saying so over the year’s police officials somehow escape the trap and get immunity for just doing the job. The situation often is not that complicated as it is shown in the court of justice. Hence the real victims of police brutality do not get proper justice and their rights are often violated. It would not be wrong to say that due to existing racism in the country, a major amount of cases happening due to excessive power used by police force is on a particular community or race.

It is really disheartening to know that in every seven hours, there is case of police violence or brutality where the police officers use excessive force resulting in violation of civil rights of people living in United States. Importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are institutions of Higher Education which were made for the purpose of enriching the education among the African American Community. Cheney University, established in 1837, is the oldest HBCU founded by Richard Humphreys. Today more than 70% of African Americans dentists have obtained their degree from a Historically Black College or University.

According to a data of NCES, only 15-17% of black students are enrolled in colleges among which 14% have obtained their degree from HBCU College. These colleges are especially for those who are at high risk of not entering or completing college, students at low income group and first generation college students. (HBCU Buzz, NCES)

HBCU’s were created after Civil War to meet educational needs of the students of US. There has been no looking back and many renowned colleges are a part of HBCU.  However there have been many myths about the Historically Black Colleges and University. First of all it is being said that enrollments in HBCU are declining, however in past few years many African American students choose to go to a HBCU college as they find it a safer environment and rather there has been an increase of about 30% in admissions in these colleges.

Then other myths are that these colleges are more expensive and do not have quality of education which is quite wrong. Tuition fees of HBCU’s are 6000$ less than other colleges. Other than that it is said that they lack diversity and do not have adequate resources which is also not true.

World Population Day observed at WPDRF

New Delhi: It took hundreds of thousands of years for the world population to grow to 1 billion – then in just another 200 years or so, it grew seven fold. In 2011, the global population reached the 7 billion mark, and today, it stands at about 7.7 billion, and it’s expected to grow to around 8.5 billion in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and 10.9 billion in 2100.

“ This massive growth has been driven largely by increasing numbers of people surviving to reproductive age, and has been accompanied by major changes in fertility rates, increasing urbanization and accelerating migration. These trends will affect the future of human race,” said Sandeep Marwah President of World Peace Development And Research Foundation while talking to the large audience at a webinar conducted to observe World Population Day.

 early 1970s, women had on average  4.5 children each; by 2015, total fertility for the world had fallen to below 2.5 children per woman. Meanwhile, average global lifespans  have risen, from 64.6 years in the early 1990s to  72.6 years in 2019.

In addition, the world is seeing high levels of urbanization  and accelerating migration. 2007 was the first year in which more people lived in urban areas than in rural areas , and by 2050 about 66 per cent of the world population will be living in cities.

These megatrends have far-reaching implications. They affect economic development, employment, income distribution, poverty and social protections. They also affect efforts to ensure universal access to health care, education, housing, sanitation, water, food and energy. To more sustainably address the needs of individuals, policymakers must understand how many people are living on the planet, where they are, how old they are, and how many people will come after them

National Day of Mangolia celebrated at AAFT

New Delhi: ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry celebrated National Day of Mongolia with its members on web which falls on 11^th July. The President of the Chamber congratulated the Ambassador and his complete team in New Delhi.

CSI Chaired Scouts guide Organisation's Meet

New Delhi:  A high profiled meeting of Scouts Guides Organization took place today under the Chairmanship of Chief Scout For India Dr. Sandeep Marwah to discuss the permanent changes and development in the organizational structure to make it a very vibrant and popular establishment.

 

Some major decisions were taken in the meeting which also included the formation of a new energetic advisory board at national level comprising of five members who can be former Governors, Generals from Army, former Union Ministers, Chancellors who can actually devote some time in the upliftment of this uniformed organization.

International Day of Cooperatives celebrated at Marwah Studios

New Delhi: NFTC- National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited in association with AAFT and ICMEI observed International Day of Cooperatives at Webinar organized by Marwah Studios, which falls on 4^th July.

“Co-operatives have been acknowledged as associations and enterprises through which citizens can effectively improve their lives while contributing to the economic, social, cultural and political advancement of their community and nation. The co-operative movement has been also recognized as a distinct and major stakeholder in both national and international affairs,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah Managing Director of NFTC and Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.

Cooperatives for Climate Action were chosen as this year’s theme to address this, and to support Sustainable Development Goal on Climate Action. Climate change severely impacts people’s livelihoods around the world, especially the most disadvantaged groups such as small-scale farmers, women, youth, indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities, who have to cope with extreme natural disasters and degradation of natural resources. This year the focus is on the contribution of cooperatives to combating climate change.

“The COVID-19 pandemic and climate emergency have both revealed the fragility of our societies and our planet. These dual crises are disproportionately affecting the world’s most vulnerable countries and people, and deepening many social and economic rifts. They also make clear the need to strengthen global cooperation and solidarity,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

“We have super relations with America. The two countries have the biggest industries of entertainment and they are entertaining not only their own countries but the whole of World,” added Dr. Marwah.

Sandeep Marwah has developed fantastic relations with Americans through art and culture. Recently he has been honored with a honorary degree from The George Washington University of Peace, Washington. Earlier also he was honored by -Kings University Honolulu for his untiring efforts to bring whole World together through art and culture.

Dr. Marwah has established strong interactions with University of Southern California and many other institutions when it comes to education. He had been also a case study with University of California Los Angles. Earlier, H.E. Kenneth I Juster Ambassador of United States of America to India had appreciated the efforts of Dr. Marwah.

Indo Rwanda Film And Cultural Forum had been also partners with Global Festival of Journalism, Global Film Festival, Global Literary Festival and Global Fashion Week earlier. A festival of films from Rwanda could not be planned because of the social distancing and Covid 19 pandemic attack.

Sandeep Marwah co-president at Cellphone Cannes Film Festival

Cannes:  The second edition of International Festival of Cellphone Cinema designed and promoted by Angelique Monet of AFI World Peace Initiative opted Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios of Republic of India as the Co-President of the Festival at Cannes in France.

Professor Karl Bardosh an award winning filmmaker from USA has been appointed as The President of the Jury & Artistic Director of the festival.  Lawrence David Foldes a critically acclaimed director serves as the Student Academy Executive Committee; OSCARS USA is the President of the Jury. Renowned film, television, media personality and educator Sandeep Marwah is the Co-President of the jury for this festival.

WPDRF celebrated National Doctor's day

New Delhi: WPDRF- World Peace Development And Research Foundation in association with ICMEI-  International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and AAFT- Asian Academy of Film And Television celebrated Ist July as National Doctor’s Day which is dedicated to the honest work of people with noble profession-being The Medical Doctor.

“Doctor’s Day in India was established by the Government of India in 1991 to value doctors and their role in the country’s development. National Doctors day in India is a big awareness campaign offering great opportunities to all to get aware of the roles, importance, and responsibilities of the doctors as well as promote medical professionals to come closer and follow the responsibilities of their profession in a very dedicated manner,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT and WPDRF in a webinar specially organized to observe the Doctors Day.

Sandeep Marwah attended meeting at Ministry of Consumer Affairs

New Delhi: The first meeting of newly constituted Media and Entertainment Committee of BIS- Bureau of Indian Standards under Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food And Public Distribution took place on web inviting some of the most important stake holders of the industry.

“We are the sixth biggest industry in India with almost touching 2,30,000 Crores turn over and were expected to be 3,00,000 crores by 2024. Around ten million people are directly working in this industry and we are supporting another ten million in associated industries like tourism, hospitality, engineering, travel and transport, interior designing, food and catering etc,” initiated and briefed by Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of the committee.

“It is a historical moment when for the first time in India we all are meeting to raise the standard of Indian media and entertainment industry and trying to introduce standards in this creative environment. We want world to appreciate our efforts of introducing quality, productivity and conducive environment for the people of creative World,” added Dr. Sandeep Marwah.

The meeting, which lasted for three hours covered many points concerning the scope and composition of media and entertainment services sectional committee and the strategy and roadmap for standardization.

ICMEI invited discussion on current scenario of events

New Delhi: International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with AAFT School of PR Events and Advertising invited people from Industry to discuss the changing scenario of events in India.

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort. Some people look for a beautiful place. Others make a place beautiful and that is the job of people who belong to this segment of business called Events,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Chamber and Marwah Studios.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, not the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. Time has come when we have to peep into other boxes what can bring back excitement to life. Without events we are a gloomy society,” added Dr. Marwah and initiated the discussion.

“Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away. We have already started our events on web and response is fantastic. No doubt that events are the part & parcel of media and entertainment industry and it has accrued loss of billions of rupees in last 100 days,” said Dr. Sanjeev Layek Executive Secretary of WASME.

“I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” Dr. George V. Antony read the quote of James Dean. He expressed how events associated with management ans education have changed the shape and attracting required crowd for the same.

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do, that’s what I am doing by performing for the camera ad I know its reaching people through social media. I have just finished few shows last week,” said Jaya Pridarshini renowned Classical Dancer.

“It was a difficult stage for all of us as we need live audience to perform classical dance. Even young dancers who were learning from me now have to use web for training. We have lost fun in performing and missing on the appreciation from the live audience,” said Anu Sinha Kathak exponent.

Hriju Shah renowned music director, Acharya Mukesh Sharma a yoga expert, Film director Raju Prasekar also spoke on the subject in detail. Chetan Joshi is a noted flautist in the Hindustani classical music tradition expressed his views and won the hearts of the participants when he played the flute on the web.
