Top 50 Bureaucrats will be awarded by Fame India

Bureaucrats or the Civil Servants constitute the permanent part of the executive organ of government. They perform professionally and the political heads often takes the credit. Still, the word bureaucracy is often received as a synonym of red-tapism. In order to reshape this perception and create a fresh narrative about the performance of bureaucrats in this country, three organizations- Fame India, Asian Education Group and Asia Post decided to undertake a nationwide survey to find out bureaucrats who have created a benchmark for the newer generation in terms of performance in public service.

There are more than 5000 Indian administrative service officers currently working in India. Doing a survey based on strict performance measures was a mammoth task. Editorial Head of the Magazine Fame India US Sonthalia said “Initially we thought of shortlisting 100 IAS officers in the first phase but then we could not downsize the list less than 300. Now imagine how difficult it was to choose the final 50 out of those super 300 officers. That is why we categorized those 300 into 50 categories and chose the top officer from each category for the final list”

Founder of Asian Education Group Dr. Sandeep Marwah said “Honesty, integrity and impartiality to the core were the basic parameters for us while carrying out the survey. Choosing 50 out of thousands does not at all mean that the rest are inferior by any means. At the same time, these top 50 are creating new milestone of success in their Carrier ”*

The Top-50 bureaucrats have been chosen from the IAS officers from 1984 batch to 2003 batch. In the first phase, top 300 officers were identified based on reports from various sources, media reports and departmental reports that could be accessed. Then these 300 officers were aligned into 50 various categories based on the stakeholder survey. The top name in each category is what you are seeing in and as Top-50 Bureaucrats list.

The parameters for identification of these officers were: Effective governance, sagacious decision-making, Responsible working, Professional attitude, behaviour with people at large and the ability to take quick and impactful decisions.
