“Cultural programs are the most binding factor of the society when people tend to forget their cast, creed, religion, color, region and become spiritually high during any musical or dance recitals or any other art and craft performances,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor AAFT University of Media And Arts at the inauguration of dance recital by Dr. Jyoti Srivastava and troop at Habitat Center.
Jyoti Srivastava and her group gave their electrifying performances in beautiful carved stories. The renowned dancer is Odissi dance exponent and has performed in many states of India and abroad.
Dr. Jyoti has cultivated a life long devotion to Classical Indian Dance since her first performance at the very early age of four. She has studied under some of the most revered Gurus- Valmiki Banerjee, Durga Charan Ranbir and Srinath Raut. She also studied Mohiniattam, Manipuri and various folk dance forms. She earned an M. Phil in classical music, which gave her a more in-depth understanding of dance. She is also an avid Yoga practitioner.
